Stephen Klump began DJing in 1998 in Toronto. He got his start playing
at a truly sketchy warehouse near Landsdowne ("just past the ravening
junkyard dogs") and sharing space in the technologix studio. It was here that a technologue called Stephen "Supersonic" for his propensity to get excited over mundane things.
During this period, he produced "Implicit Mondays", a mixed
-format electronica Internet Radio
show, for www.technologix.org.
In 2001, he moved to Sydney Australia and helped found the Kalide collective
("Irregular - Irreverent -Irrelevant"), dedicated to bringing twisted head music to indoor and outdoor venues. Meanwhile, Stephen faithfully produced
the weekly "Supersonic Adventures" Internet radio on www.beats.to, showcasing mostly techno flavours with occasional forays into other genres.
In 2003, he had to come back to Canada. He now lives in Ottawa. Mostly,
the goalposts of his sound are deep techno and psy-tech. Supersonic about
every month or so on Teknoturtle's CQDX's CHUO 89.1 (www.chuo.fm). Yes, he is trolling for more gigs, just like everybody else.
