Sarah Mixington made her first foray into the world of vinyl almost a year ago. Her biggest inspiration to make the move from passive fan to aspiring artist was Misstress Barbara. Barbaras style, energy, and dedication to the business (her own, especially) are what greatly impressed upon Sarah the idea that techno needs more visible, committed, female artists. Ms. Mixingtons choice producers include Danilo Vigorito, Ben Sims, Umek, and Ignition Technician, while her top-drawer labels include Iturnem, Phont, Pornographic, Question, and Superbra. Within the local Toronto scene, Sarah has been a part of events such as Forest City versus Concrete Jungle, and played at System Soundbar and Babylon Martini bar; Sarah also placed "first runner up" in a recent DJ competition presented by Temporal Rhythm. Her fast and hard, yet smooth, flowing style is representative of her personality: driven, enthusiastic, and motivated.
