New York based DJ/Producer Jaymz Nylon developed an early passion for vinyl. At the tender age of 3 years old Jaymz' father put together a collection of young Nylon's favorites which included Fela, Santana, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin and a little Samba thrown in by his mother.At age 14 Jaymz' father was stationed in Germany and this is where he got turned on to electronic music which he then started to mix with early funk and hip-hop. Jaymz Dj'ed his first party for young American and German teens in the parking garage beneath his apartment complex.Then at the age of 17 and through university, Jaymz would also throw Acid/Chicago House Music parties in basements while parents were away.In 1993 Jaymz produced his first record Ofunwa It all begins here on Tribal America and his debut album "Afrotech" on Irma (New York, Italy & London) in 2000. Since then Nylon has recorded under various pseudonyms for King Street/Nite Grooves (Tokyo & New York), Loveslap Recordings, Out of the Loop,Captivating, Eightball/Empire State, Velocity, 3hree to 5ive, Discomania (Germany), Obession Music (France), and his own Nylon imprint. Nylon is also a highly sought after Sound Designer for clients such as BMW, Gucci, Halston and TOMANDANDY.Jaymz has received worldwide critical acclaim for his seamless DJ sets from New York to Manumission in Ibiza, Spain.
