Canadian DJ Sean Griffen's love for house music developed in the late 1980's when he first embraced the Toronto dance music scene. Inspired by tracks such as "Conquistador Chocolate" Sean a.k.a. DJ Release decided to take his new found love for house music to the next level. He bought himself a pair of Gemini turntables and a no name brand mixer and immediately began to practice. His addiction to the tables grew stronger and deeper and his skills began to emerge. By the early 90's Sean found himself performing in local clubs such as Mad Bar and at house parties in front of crowds who promptly fell in love with his music. In 2001 DJ Release's talent really shined through when he won the Nxne/Klublife DJ contest where he opened for Montreal's Jojo Flores. Some of his current and recent projects include guest appearances on 100.7 FM for G-Money's show G-Groove as well as writing reviews for Klublife Magazine. His mixes are soulful and provocative and we are thrilled to air them on our show.
