Blotto

In the fall of 1994, Mike Blotto reluctantly agreed to DJ at a house party being thrown by his former room mate from University in Toronto. He had purchased a pair of Technics SL1200s only 3 months earlier, and was nervous about playing at this party because there was no way his skills had been refined enough to be able to play for a room full of people. The party was appropriately named Acid Rain; appropriate due to the style of music that Mike had a love for at that timeACID. As it turned out, the party was off the hook, and Mike was very happy with his performance that evening, and so were the party goers. It was all downhill from here.

12 years later, and still a Toronto resident, Mike has been through the techno ringer. Hes played the part of producer, promoter, tour manager, and fight mediator, but the most important of all of his roles has been and will always be the same; as the DJ. Party after party, Mike has had the honor to play alongside many of todays top DJs including Richie Hawtin, Marco Corola, The Surgeon, and DJ Hell, just to name a few. His style has definitely changed over the years, as he doesnt play too much acid anymore, but the basic elements are still theregroove and intensity. Heavy, hypnotic, raunchy, loop-based techno tracks; seamlessly mixed through an escalating set.

Enjoy!
