Barbi Castelvi (Dj Barbi) has been a professional dj for over 10 years now. She is versed in many different genres of music and has been a music collector since she was a young child. She is most known for her musical dj sets of electrofunk, Miami Bass/Booty, 80's freestyle and new wave, blog house, and guilty pleasures. and many more. With the birth of new dj technology, Dj Barbi has integrated Serato Scratch Live in her deejaying which she brings with her to every show. She has deejayed alongside some of the world's most cutting edge dj's and musical acts (T. Raumschniere, Morgan Geist, Chromeo, Arthur Baker, Dj Godfather, Aaron LaCrate, TTC, Edu K., Daniel Haaksman, MSTRKRFT, Orbital, Vive La Fete, The Hacker, Smash TV, Peter Hook (New Order/Joy Division),Crossover, Dj Unknown, Princess Superstar, Orbital, A-Trak, Tommie Sunshine and many more). Her corporate event list includes work for Puma, Adidas, Jeff Ltd., Now Magazine, Eye Magazine, The Toronto Film Festival, Cotton Ginney and many more. Dj Barbi has had a radio show for 6 years which she programs, produces and hosts on college radio (Ckln 88.1 fm). In Canada, she is part of a dj duo called SYNTONIC DEEJAYS with her partner DJ CRYO who have both played in nearly every dance bar and club in Toronto. She is a member of 2 dj collectives in the U.S....The Geishaz (www.geishaz.com) based in Miami and She-Jay (www.shejay.com). Barbi has been featured on Electro Empire (www.electroempire.com), The National Post, Now Magazine and Eye magazine. For many years, Barbi Castelvi, has been a musician as well. She is a trained multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and producer that has been recording and creating music since she was 9 years old. She is part of a musical project called SYNTONICS (www.myspace.com/syntonics). Acting is also something that she dabbles in. She recently landed a major role in DROP DEAD ROSES, which is now out on dvd in the U.S. and can be bought on line or through Blockbuster and Hollywood Video.
